Monitoring Station Trained staff operate the complex Monitoring Station
All training officers employed within The Protector Group are fully trained to deliver the standards of training required under the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
Training Requirements
The training requirements for security officers are:
Part 1 - Knowledge based training and assessment (22.5 hours) Part 2 - Practical scenario based training and assessment (7.5 hours)
The Certificate in Delivering Learning: An Introduction (7302) provides the training requirements for our training officers to deliver Part 1.
Conflict Management Trainer Programme provides the training requirements for our training officers to deliver Part 2.
These two key courses are carried out and certified by S.I.T.O and Maybo.
Training Officers are also trained to the NVQ Assessor Level.
Security Officer Training
All security officers employment by the Protector Group are required to be trained to the standards of training required under the Private Security Industry Act 2001. All training is carried out by certified by S.I.T.O and Maybo training officers.

Part 1 - Knowledge based training and assessment
This section of the course covers the following topics:
• Role and responsibilities of security officers • Customer care and social skills • Fire safety • Health and safety • Dealing with incidents and emergencies • The Law (civil and criminal) • Procedures for the control of keys and equipment • Assignment instructions • Reporting
Part 2 - Conflict Management & Communication Skills
Practical scenario based training and assessment
This section of the course covers the following topics:
· Communication skills · Conflict management
This is followed by on-site monitoring and training over 16 week period, following successful completion classroom training.

• Emergency First Aid • Supervisory /Management Course • Customer Service • Quality Service Skills • Safety Steward Course (6 Module Course) • Personnel Vetting (BS 7858) • SITO/City & Guilds 7274/7278 & 7275 (NVQ Level 2) • CCTV/Alarm Controllers
Following the mandatory basic training, all personnel are required to undertake post specific training from the above and are actively encouraged to progress to higher standards via local Colleges.
